We made it. We won.

Thanks to you and tens of thousands of people across Europe, the European Commission committed to giving safe and affordable abortion to all women in the EU! 🎉 [1]

After years of organising, more than one million voices speaking up, and the relentless, brave and unstoppable mobilisation of our partners My Voice My Choice, Europe has taken a historic step forward for women’s rights.

The Commission has now formally confirmed something unprecedented: EU funds can be used to support access to safe abortion care, especially for women who cannot access services in their own country. This opens the door for Member States to use existing European funding to help people travel for care, remove financial barriers, and treat abortion access as a matter of public health and equality - not politics. This is a huge victory, and it belongs to you.

But the job isn’t finished.

There is still no guaranteed access for everyone, and no clear, dedicated funding to make this a reality. What we have won is a powerful opening - proof that Europe can act, and that citizens’ voices can force institutions to move.

Now comes the next chapter: making sure these commitments turn into real access, real funding, and real safety for every woman who needs care.

Movements like ours only exist because people choose to act - again and again - even when change feels impossible. Let’s celebrate today, and tomorrow, we keep going together.
