You helped protect Europe’s wild heart 💚

Perseverance pays off. Thousands of us joined forces across borders to defend nature, stop destruction, and force powerful actors to change. The three victories below show what’s possible when this community refuses to give up - and why keeping up the pressure matters.

Defending Europe’s virgin nature

The Kresna Gorge is a precious site. It's home to rare and vulnerable species like brown bears, wolves, and griffon vultures - and where there are more butterflies than in the entire UK!

When the Bulgarian government planned to carve a motorway straight through this protected gorge, a wave of outrage spread across Europe.

Together, over 244,000 of us rallied to demand the European Commission stop funding this destructive project and protect this natural treasure.

And, after years of relentless campaigning, citizen pressure brought a breakthrough! The motorway will now be rerouted to avoid the gorge, safeguarding its unique wildlife.

Protecting the world’s most iconic forest

The Amazon rainforest feeds us with rich oxygen, stores enormous amounts of carbon, and is home to millions of people and species.

But the powerful Santander bank had other plans for this natural jewel: cutting down its majestic trees to drill for oil.

That’s when we stepped in. Tens of thousands of us flooded the bank’s top executives with messages, forcing them to respond.

Members of our community even met directly with Santander’s sustainability leadership team to make them explain themselves.

As a result, Santander has reduced bankrolling destruction in the Amazon. [3] But the fight isn’t over until all extraction in the Amazon ends. Watch this space!

Because our home is worth protecting

Wild bees, butterflies and other pollinators play a crucial role sustaining ecosystems and the food we rely on daily - but their numbers are collapsing.

When EU lawmakers asked the public how seriously they should protect pollinators - this community acted immediately.

Our voice was so strong that the European Commission explicitly acknowledged the overwhelming participation from citizens. Because of our action, Europe now has a stronger plan to restore pollinator populations.

We're watching closely how commitments are implemented - but let’s first take the time to celebrate this major achievement!
