Trump, Musk and Zuckerberg’s faces on EU buildings

We lit up major EU buildings in Brussels with the faces of Trump, Musk and Zuckerberg - and a message for European leaders: Fight for us, not for Trump's billionaires.

EU heads of state were meeting to shape the future of our personal data, our digital privacy, and who controls what we see online. With tech billionaires pushing hard to gut the rules that protect us, we had to make sure leaders also heard our voices.

And we did. We went big, so they could not ignore us. So they would feel us watching, just as they sat down to talk.

Big Tech is fighting tooth and nail to undo the digital rules standing in the way of their unlimited power. [1]

Like the EU law we pushed the Commission to use against Musk, as he let misinformation run wild on his platform. Resulting in a big fine he’s now challenging in Europe’s top court. [2] Or the law we pressed regulators to apply against Google, for building a monopoly. Leading to a nearly 3 billion euros fine for the company. [3]

Right now, public pressure can still cut through and shift the conversation. That’s why we stepped up with this bold projection a few days ago. Here’s exactly how we did it:

• We hired a graphic designer to prepare bold visuals for the projection;

• We worked with an experienced team to help with logistics - from equipment to image placement on the building - and manage legal risks;

• We had a professional photographer and videographer on site on the night of the action to get high-quality footage;

• We sent it to key journalists in European newspapers immediately after - and it made the news. [4]

• We joined forces with groups like Greenpeace, the People vs Big Tech and many more, to make our message impossible to ignore. [5]

This was huge - but it’s not over. And we need your support to keep up the fight.
